For efficient healthcare…

In the increasingly competitive healthcare arena costs are closely monitored and resources are continuously in high demand. iSeeCommunications solution can ensure that resources are being used effectively and efficiently and for patients this means a healthcare service that is accessible at home 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The interactive service enables patients to see and speak to their own personal healthcare adviser live from the comfort and privacy of their own home via their TV or PC.

Private healthcare

For private healthcare organisations the service can operate to the desktop or to the PC at home, with one or two-way video and audio, giving patient reassurance and excellent customer service. Relationships between private healthcare organisations and their corporate clients can be enhanced by using this system that brings back the ‘personal touch’.

In a recent survey among broadband users over half the respondents said that they would be more likely to use a website if there was a health professional able to answer questions and give advice.

Public sector healthcare

iSeeCommunications can help give patients universal access to NHS services, information and advice, using PC or digital TV. During a twelve month pilot with NHS Direct, delivered to digital TV subscribers in Birmingham, patients were able to call the NHS Direct nurses, talk to them by telephone and see them on TV. The nurse was able to conduct a secure, live consultation, show helpful graphics and video clips enabling them to quickly and accurately assess the patient and give them the health information they required.

As a result the patient could then be directed to the right course of treatment, for example to make an appointment at the local surgery, go to A&E or see a pharmacist. The pilot won an EMMA award (Electronic Multi-Media Award) for ‘best interactive service’

During the digital TV pilot with NHS Direct, 88% of patients who used the service said they preferred seeing and talking to a nurse on TV to simply talking by telephone.
